Symrise assumes social responsibility

At Symrise, we have set ourselves many ambitious goals in the area of sustainability. Among other things, we want to make a positive contribution within the communities in which we are active.

We strongly encourage our employees to get involved. Many of them are already actively involved in numerous charitable initiatives around the world that contribute to our understanding of social responsibility. These include volunteering and fundraising for local environmental projects, working with charities and participating in initiatives that address social issues. By contributing their time and skills, Symrise employees contribute to positive change. In this way, they promote a sense of community both within the company and in society.

To take a further step on this path, we entered into a strategic partnership with the “Deed” platform this year. It enables holistic results in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our employees can contribute their skills to various projects and thus make the right contribution to global challenges.

In order to promote the special commitment of our employees on the platform, we have provided an amount of 15,000 euros as part of this year's fundraising campaign.

This was used for the following campaigns:

Contribution to employee donations: Each employee in the pilot countries received a $7 donation voucher to donate to their preferred organization. Alternatively, employees could donate any amount to their chosen cause and Symrise matched the employee's contribution with $7.

Local volunteer events: Our ambassadors organized a variety of local volunteer drives, including writing letters to lonely people, donating coats to those in need and supporting local businesses. These events gave employees the opportunity to connect with their communities and make a tangible contribution.

A bright future for social impact

“We are thrilled with the enthusiasm and generosity shown by our employees during the campaign,” said Bernhard Kott, Chief Sustainability Officer at Symrise. “By empowering our team to drive positive change, we are not only making a difference in our communities, but also strengthening our company culture.”
